2024 Flamingos AAA Tryouts!

The Flamingos will be hosting a 2011/2012 Tryout on Monday, January 15th from 1:15 pm - 2:15 pm at Eagles Arena in Grand Forks. We are looking for additional 2012 players and for additional 2011 players who are interested in playing up with the 2010s. To register, go to https://www.fargogrindershockey.com/Default.aspx?tabid=509773. Additional information regarding tryouts for all Flamingos teams and regarding the Flamingos AAA program is below.

Tryouts:

There will be no tryouts for the 2009 or 2010 Boys age groups, please contact John Wuitschick if your player is interested in being evaluated for potential openings.

Any 2011 Boys players are welcome to register for tryouts, as there is the possibility of picking up a 2011 tournament or two provided there is sufficient interest, but it will not be a full-time team. If your player cannot make the tryout date, please contact John Wuitschick to set up an evaluation.
Interested 2011 Boys players who would like to play up with the 2010s should register for tryouts on January 15th at Eagles Arena in Grand Forks from 1:15 - 2:15 pm. Please indicate your interest in playing up in the "Additional Comments/Requests" Section of the Tryout Registration Form.

The 2012 Boys age group will have tryouts on January 15th at Eagles Arena in Grand Forks from 1:15 - 2:15 pm. Please register for tryouts if you are interested in having your player evaluated for the Flamingos, whether part-time or full-time. If your player cannot make the tryout date, please contact John Wuitschick to set up an evaluation.

For interested 2013 Boys players, please contact John Wuitschick if your player would like to tryout. Exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis.

Additional tryout information will be sent out on or before Sunday, January 14th to registered players. Players will need to provide their own light or dark numbered jersey for tryouts. Jersey color assignments will be sent out via email on or before Sunday, January 14th. Limited jerseys will be available in the event that your player does not have a numbered jersey of their assigned color.

Players will be notified within 1-2 weeks after tryouts if they have made the team via email.

About the Flamingos:
Led by non-parent Head Coach, John Wuitschick.
Character First, Skill Second Approach when Evaluating Players.
Team-First Mentality, Players Have to be willing to Make Sacrifices for the Good of the Team!
Emphasis on Playing with Speed and Moving the Puck Quickly.
Seek Out Competitive Games, Mostly Competing at an Upper Open/AAA Level.
Flexible Roster, Families Only Pay for and Play in the Tournaments that work for them! The roster will change for each tournament, allowing players to be invited to join for one or more tournaments with the Flamingos.
Tournament Fees will include the tournament itself, a practice, and jerseys. Players will need to provide their own set of mostly black socks. Pink socks will be provided. Typical tournament fees are around $180/tournament, depending on the cost of the tournament, the number of players, and the practice ice. Practices will typically take place in either Grand Forks or Fargo, usually for an hour and a half.
Fargo Grinders AAA Players (and players from other organizations) are Eligible to Play with the Flamingos in addition to their other AAA Schedules!

2024 AAA Season:
The Flamingos will have teams at the Boys 2009, 2010, and 2012 Age Levels for the 2024 AAA Season. Most teams will play 2 tournaments in the Spring and 2 tournaments in the Fall, with an emphasis on playing in local tournaments (Fargo - Moorhead and Grand Forks areas) when possible. Individual team schedules will be announced at a later date to selected players.
